Who We Are
In 1956, Dave's Barber Shop was established by a small-town barber by the name of David Lavey.
Dave was very dedicated to barbering and showed equal dedication to providing quality service. In 1995, Candace Andrews, a young cosmetologist, joined the shop and brought other services into the establishment, ranging from simple trims to colors, perm, and up-dos. A year later, Candace bought the shop, but Dave wasn't ready to leave his scissors behind and thought he may stay on for "just a few more years." On May 14, 2012 (one day before his 80th birthday!) Dave decided that his health and family needed his attention more than the shop. However he remained a pillar to the community and friend to Candace and her family.
After a few years of barbering solo, Candace recently welcomed Ken Drost to join the staff. Ken is an exceptional barber, specializing in the techniques and traditions of classically-trained barbers. Ken enjoys people and sharing stories as much as he does his craft.
Throughout the years, the name and tradition have never changed. The only change made in the past 60 years is the number of services that are offered to guests. We offer cuts, old fashioned shaves, perms, colors, waxing, and lash extensions at our establishment. We welcome all ages and hairs of any length, scarcity, or color. Come join the tradition!
